About Me

Since childhood, I have been fascinated by both form and function. While I enjoyed playing with my toys I also enjoyed taking them apart to see how they worked; I wanted to experience both the visceral and the logical. As life progressed, I ventured into music and photography but also into web development and programming to feed my technical side. As my photographic interests became a bigger part of my life, the subject matter evolved from still life, animals and landscapes to portraiture, architectural and product photography.

Today, I primarily focus my camera on products because of the problem solving nature in the lighting. Each product offers challenges that my technical side craves and creative opportunities that stimulate my artistic side. Product photography is where the right and left sides of my brain harmonize. I can’t imagine doing anything more satisfying, it makes me very happy and I love what I do!

I went to Santa Monica College to receive a formal education in photography and commercial lighting techniques.

My hobbies include fine art black & white photography, darkroom printing and fishing. I love the darkroom and the art of printing photographs. I was very fortunate to be taught by master darkroom printer, Steve Moulton, one of the best black & white printers in the world. He sparked a passion for black & white photography and printing in me that will burn forever.
